About

Franck Tawema is a designer and artist, currently based in London, England.

His body of work addresses the expression of identity through media, and what it means to be an innovative creator, both in the physical and digital world, in the age of infinite scale. Inspired by his African heritage, his work is informed by playful optical illusions, using simple geometry to construct his compositions. He is fascinated by repeated patterns and explores how shapes, lighting, and materials can be used to create illusory and magical experiences. In his work, he explores the relationships between culture, process, identity, technology, complexity, and simplicity, and finds himself returning to those fundamental themes, developing new visual ways to express them.

Inviting his audience by redefining the functionalities of art through cross disciplines, he likes to challenges them by exploring the space between digital and physical elements and creating a dual relationship between architecture, media, and virtual realities.

Located at the crossroads of art, crafts, technology, and design, his three-dimensional pieces, virtual experiences, and immersive media take multiple forms. Golden blocks come to life, beautiful architectural aesthetics take shape, from NFT galleries to pop art pieces, offering the audience new perspectives on creative production.

He blends art forms with identity and creates iconic representations by translating a huge amount of information. This is a gift most artists can’t even identify let alone emulate it.
